Dubrovnik Game Of Thrones Walking Tour (Self-Guided)

Game of Thrones (GoT) is one of the most popular show in the world, having aired in 170 countries. If you’re a GoT fan visiting Dubrovnik, you’ll undoubtedly know that this is the real King's landing. The truth is that many other scenes like Qarth, Blackwater Bay, the Purple Wedding and the House of Undying were also filmed here!
Dileep and I did prior-research and listed out the iconic filming locations in and around the old town of Dubrovnik, which helped us to do the tour all by ourselves, at our own pace. Bonus, we found the perfect GoT souvenir shop where we could dress up as the famous GoT characters and take photos on the Iron Throne! Being fans of this show, it was surely one of the unforgettable experiences of our life!

City Walls
There are 3 entrances/exits to the city walls - Pile Gate, Ploce Gate on St. Dominic street and St. John Fortress next to the maritime museum!
Admission: Entrance fee to the City walls is 250 Kuna or free with the Dubrovnik Card!
Locations of Interest: Bokar Fortress (South end of the wall), View of King's landing from the north side of the wall, Minecta Tower (Northwest corner of the wall)

It's not the real Iron Throne which was used in the shooting! However, if you want to round up your GoT bucket list experience in Dubrovnik, then a good way to do so is to snap a photo sitting on one of the many Iron Throne replicas scattered around the city.
Plus you can wear costumes of your favorite character(White Walker, Arya, Sansa, Daenerys, Jon Snow, Joffrey, the Hound) and the staff will help you with the photoshoot! Also, you get to play any 3/10 games themed on GoT! We loved this unique experience and would cherish it for life :)

Lokrum Island
Lokrum is Dubrovnik's closest island which is around 15 minutes by boat!
Admission: The return ferry + entry to the island cost 250 Kuna per person.
Scenes filmed here: S2E5 - Scenes of Daenerys attending a garden party and is welcomed by the disturbing Warlocks of Qarth leader. The Qarth garden scenes are filmed in the Lokrum island Botanical Gardens, The real Iron Throne lies in the old Benedictine monastery at the island.
Trsteno Arboretum aka Red Keep’s Gardens
The Trsteno Arboretum is another Game of Thrones filming location which is located just a short 30-minute drive from Dubrovnik.
Admission to Arboretum: 50 Kuna

Hotel Belvedere
Hotel Belvedere is a spooky, abandoned hotel just south of Dubrovnik’s old town. Although this huge hotel boasted 18 floors with 223 units, it has been out of use since it was destroyed in 1991 during the Croatian War of Independence.
Scenes filmed here: This was the setting for the famous Game of Thrones battle between Prince Oberyn Martell (the Red Viper) and Ser Gregor Clegane (the Mountain).
